The journey begins in Manali, a picturesque town known for its pristine beauty and vibrant culture. Upon arrival, trekkers can spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude, exploring local attractions such as the Hadimba Temple and Solang Valley, and preparing for the trek ahead. An early night’s rest is advisable to prepare for the physical exertion to follow.

On the second day, trekkers will drive from Manali to Jobra, approximately 22 kilometers away. This picturesque drive takes about an hour and offers stunning views of the surrounding hills. Upon reaching Jobra, the trek officially begins. Hikers will navigate through lush forests and charming meadows, enjoying the flora and fauna of the region. The day culminates with a camp set up at the beautiful site of Jwara or Chika, showcasing views of glacial streams and towering peaks.

The third day introduces trekkers to the heart of the trek as they ascend towards Balu Ka Ghera. The path gradually gains altitude, transitioning from verdant meadows to rocky terrain. En route, trekkers may encounter shepherds and their flocks, offering insight into the local culture. After a day of trekking, the campsite at Balu Ka Ghera provides a perfect backdrop against the towering snow-clad mountains, ideal for stargazing and camaraderie among trekkers.

Day four is the trek’s highlight as hikers reach the Hampta Pass at an elevation of 14,100 feet. The ascent presents breathtaking views of the Kullu Valley on one side and the Lahaul Valley on the other, creating a dramatic juxtaposition of landscapes. After savoring the panoramic views, trekkers will descend to Siagoru, where they will set up camp for the night, discussing the day’s achievements and experiences around a warm campfire.

On the fifth day, trekkers will trek towards Chandratal Lake, a striking high-altitude lake often referred to as the “Moon Lake” due to its crescent shape. This 9-kilometer trek offers challenging terrain and stunning vistas, culminating in the enchanting beauty of the lake. Upon arrival, campers will have the opportunity to relax and absorb the serene surroundings, reflecting on their trekking journey.
